Google / Yahoo ad deal to go live in October

A report on CNet today states that Google adWords ads will displayed in Yahoo search results as early as October. This deal has been rumbling along for a while ZDNet are reporting that Google’s Eric Schmidt has stated the hurdles have been cleared and ads will be going live soon.
Schmidt has said on Bloomberg TV “We are going to move forward, we are in the process of talking to the government. They’ve not indicated one way or the other how they’re dealing with us, we always worry a little bit, but we think our arguments are pretty strong… Yahoo has made it very, very clear they’re going to take the best parts of their network and ours and combine them.”
The anti-trust considerations were one aspect that analysts thought would stop the deal going through but it seems that the noise coming out of the two search giants are optimistic. The deal is seen as key to Yahoo’s future revenue streams and is believed to be worth £400m to Yahoo.
