One of the world largest Social Networks Friendster, today announced it is now available in the three most widely used languages on the Internet - Chinese, Spanish and English.
“Friendster is a leading global website and the #1 online social network in Asia, according to comScore Media Metrix. Supporting both Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese help Friendster maintain and extend its leadership position in Asia,” said David Jones, vice president of marketing at Friendster.
“Support for Spanish, used by over 100 million Internet users, including as many as 19 million in the United States, extends Friendster’s addressable market to more than half the world,” said Jones.
Friendster has implemented multi-language support on a single domain - Friendster.com - to promote communication and interaction among users who speak different languages. A large percentage of friend networks on Friendster cross borders and continents, requiring multi-language support to be implemented in a single, global Web site.
“Friendster has a large number of bi-lingual users who would like the choice to enter their content and use the site in major non-English languages. Additionally, countless users are looking forward to inviting their friends and family who speak these languages to join them on Friendster,” said Jones.
