Russian Search Engine Yandex Releases Punto 3.0

Russian Search Engine Yandex has today released a new version of Punto Switcher, an automatic Russian to English keyboard layout switcher.

Punto Switcher 3.0 is available for free download at http://punto.yandex.ru/, the program’s official website. You can discuss the software and share ideas with the developers at the Punto Switcher Club at the Ya.ru social networking service.

Punto Switcher 3.0 supports Windows XP and Windows Vista. The program has an improved interface, known errors and weaknesses of the previous versions have been addressed. Specifically, the new version now allows to change standard system key combinations for basic program commands. Also, by selecting text, Punto Switcher 3.0 users can perform quick searches in Yandex, Yandex.Dictionaries, Russian and English Wikepedia.

Yandex team started working on this software in November 2007. Six months ago, Yandex acquired the rights to Punto Switcher from its author Sergey Moskalev, who also continues to participate in its development.
