SEOnews.ru – What stereotypes (such as Siberia, bears, vodka for Russia) have European SEO-companies about Russian search market?
Andy Redfern – Hit Search – “There are no particular stereotypes to my knowledge. ”
SEOnews.ru – Do European webmasters watch for development of Russian search market? What resources (online dailies, researches) they use?
Andy Redfern – Hit Search – “I am not sure search marketers in Europe truly look towards the Russian search market as much as they should do. The focus, I supposed naturally is on English language search engines, whereas we have had a lot of experience in marketing brands around the world and having an in-depth knowledge of the Russian marketing is crucial.
We at Hit Search have our own reputation management software which scans search engines for topical information for our industry in Russia. We think that this gives us a tremendous advantage over other companies in the UK.”
SEOnews.ru – What are the specific characters of Russian SEO market in your opinion? How these specificities influence to market developing?
Andy Redfern – Hit Search – “I really look towards the Russian SEO market quite a lot; I see quite a lot of highly technical skilled people, particularly in programming, that are coming up with some really exciting ways of working. So in summary I would classify the Russian SEO market as Innovative, Face paced and having a growing influence.”
SEOnews.ru – Are there cases where Russian companies ordered SEO for the Western search engines in Hit Search?
Andy Redfern – Hit Search – “We are yet to see Russian companies ordering direct but we mainly deal with companies that have a Worldwide SEO presence and the Russian market makes up just one element of that.”
SEOnews.ru – Why Hit Search takes greater interest in Russian internet market unlike the other European SEO company?
Andy Redfern – Hit Search – “Hit Search as a company are highly technical and innovative and we are constantly looking at how search engines are growing in different countries and at what pace. Also we like to see if any new products provided by the search engines are suitable to be offered to our clients.”
SEOnews.ru – Yandex (the largest SE in Runet) is going to do an initial public offering of shares. What is your estimation of such plan?
Andy Redfern – Hit Search – “I would imagine a Yandex share float would be an excellent move; an excellent product in a booming market.; However I know they are debating whether to IPO in 2008 or 2009. As will all IPO’s the timing is absolutely cruicial.”
