In a joint statement issued Monday it has been announced that Google Inc has bought Korean blog software house Tatter and Company.

Korea is the 6th largest market in terms of internet users and it is an area where Google lags behind Yahoo. The deal, the value of which has not been disclosed, will help Google gain an increased market share in the Korean market.
Tatter and Company’s main product is the blogging software TextCube which, according to Tatt and Company president Chang-Won Kim, will now be introduced to a wider worldwide audience by Google. This could be seen as an attempt to introduce TextCube in order to present a rival to open-source blogging products such as WordPress.
