Yesterday we highlighted how social networks and social media can be used for something like raising voter turnout and today we stumbled up a group aimed at helping people through the current economic downturn by dispensing free financial advice.

The Ask Owen Facebook group is an extension of a newly established impartial financial advice blog of the same name and has is trying to provide a question and answer service for those concerned about managing their money in these troubled times.

The Group is supported by Secure Trust Bank plc and in fact their Deputy CEO of Moneyway actually answers the questions himself.
