Google Reveals Web Browser Chrome Details26th November 2008 7:31 pm In a candid interview conducted for Zeta’s recently launched blog, Google UK’s Communications & Public Affairs Manager, Anthony House, explains how the Incognito ‘porn mode’ can make browsing safer and easier. Google Chrome is designed to give people a fast, safe, and stable browsing experience, explains House: “We wanted to make the user interface very clean, we wanted to make it intuitive to use. Whatever powerful computer science is going on behind the scenes, we wanted it to be straightforward for people to use.” One of the cleverest functions of Chrome is the Incognito mode which enables stealth browsing, and was quickly dubbed the ‘porn mode’. If a user opens an Incognito tab, the browser doesn’t record a history or anything entered into text fields. House says: “I use it whenever I look at my bank account details because that means that there’s no record of that happening on my computer.” Google has revealed that the release of Chrome will not affect its relationship with the Mozilla Foundation, who it works very closely with. House says: “Our vision is that there are good things in both Chrome and Firefox and having more choice for consumers is better and it stimulates more innovation. If we’re competing against other people who are coming up with brilliant ideas, that drives our teams to come up with better ideas as well.” Would you like to know about Internet Marketing?
