Andy Murray – Top Search Mover of the Day

By Andrew Redfern @ 22nd June 2009 4:05 pm

With Wimbledon already up and running, it seems as though the internet masses have been searching tennis superstars in increasing numbers today. According to Microsoft’s search engine trends, Bing Xrank, the name “Andy Murray” is currently the highest mover in increasing searches throughout today.

Biggest Mover of The Day

In a slight difference to Google search trends, Xrank offers search engine trends that are almost live. Google currently has an average of 3 day lag and will not show you how searches for big terms, are increasing on a daily basis.

According to Erick Schonfeld of TechCrunch, Bing’s xRank feature seems to outperform Google Trends for displaying the most up-to-date trends in search queries, information that may aid companies’ search engine optimisation campaigns.

We also believe Erick is spot on, with this knowledge of search engine trends being as up to date as possible, it allows you to know what to target as certain periods come around. For instance, as mentioned above, Wimbledon. With the tennis kicking off today we expect to see searches for Andy Murray and other tennis stars, increase further over the next 2 weeks.
