buy at choose Chris Zaharias to accelerate companies US growth

By Andrew Redfern @ 19th December 2007 5:27 pm

buy at has engaged Chris Zaharias as a strategic advisor to accelerate the company’s growth in the United States. Zaharias, the former senior vice president of Efficient Frontier, a leading SEM global company, will provide counsel to buy at, Inc. on  directing agency and client relationships in the United States.

Zaharias’ appointment follows the launch of buy at, Inc., the U.S.-based subsidiary of buy.at, the United Kingdom’s largest independent affiliate network.

Zaharias will help the company establish and improve relationships with advertisers and advertising agencies alike; help raise the profile of affiliate marketing in specific agencies; and identify, generate and support new business opportunities.

Zaharias has more than a decade of new media and management-board experience from companies including Efficient Frontier, Totality Corporation, RealNames Corporation and Netscape Communications. As senior vice president of strategic initiatives at Efficient Frontier, he built and ran a U.S. and European sales and business development team that made Efficient Frontier a world leader in Search Engine Marketing (SEM).

“Chris Zaharias brings with him an impressive track record in Internet sales and a thorough command of online marketing, search marketing, and conversion optimization,” said Malcolm Cowley, president of buy at, Inc.

“His experience and high-level relationships will enable us to attract substantial new business and position ourselves as a leading player in the marketplace.”

Affiliate marketing is a channel in which online content providers (publishers) partner with companies (advertisers/merchants) to build sales growth by driving consumers to those companies’ websites.

Unlike traditional display advertising or pay-per-click (PPC) models, the publishers are paid only when a visitor to their site takes action. buy at serves as an intermediary between advertisers and publishers, and offers its customers the ability to choose from a wide selection of proprietary and customizable products and solutions.

“buy at’s proven cost-per-action model aids in effectively engaging U.S.-based agencies and advertisers in strategic discussions that will help them gain a better understanding of how to drive revenue from affiliate marketing,” said Zaharias.

“Affiliate marketing is revving up very fast in the United States, which brings unique challenges in educating the market and proving the business case for a channel that delivers the highest return on investment in the industry.”
