Google Increases Bing Importance Through Page Rank

Yes we know Google are the market leader in search engines and many SEOs use Googles pagerank tool as a way to gauge success in link building. Well now Bing have something they can shout about when it comes to Google page rank.

You would think Google wouldn’t really want to increase page rank of rival search engines, and people creating news stories like this off the back of it only gain to increase the brand awareness of these rivals. However Google have now increased the page rank of their latest enemy “Bing” to a Page Rank 9 from their previous pagerank of 2.

Some of you may not see this as big news but I’m pretty sure the guys down at Microsoft will be dancing for joy at their latest success with this new engine. This is also off the back of Google indexing Bing their search query pages. I know this is along way of a perfect page rank of 10 and I don’t think Google will ever get there after the only page I’ve ever seen with this, is Google.com itself. It’s probably still a big shot in the arm for them.

This may indeed be an incredibly interesting time for search engine users, could Google be slightly rocked by a company who looked to have missed the boat with the online earning potential.
