Are you looking to market your new or existing brand, either through internet marketing channels or general marketing? This is one of the most difficult things to do, especially when it comes to internet marketing. With internet marketing becoming one of the best ways for people to target business, it is important to understand what is needed to help increase your online revenue.

If you are having trouble with marketing your brand or have seen a sudden drop off in traffic, then this could be down to the latest algorithm changes in the Google search engine. Although Google don’t like to publicy announce anything in their algorithm, it is quite obvious to search engine and internet marketing professionals, that there is a massive change this past week. We have seen a sudden rise in rankings of big name brands that have had, what we would consider, “poor seo”.

We have known for sometime that Google may start to prefer brands in their search engine results, but never have we seen such an increase. If you look at terms such as “outdoor clothing” in a Google UK search, you notice two big brands, Blacks and Regatta, are now ranking on the first page. Blacks did originally rank anyway, but now they are top. Regatta doesnt even have a title with the phrase “outdoor clothing” inside it.

With this in mind, it now tells us that in order to compete on these bigger phrases, you need to take a whole new approach with an internet marketing campaign. Changes like this are not uncommon with Google but are rarely noticed by companies that choose to do all their own internet marketing. This is why it is much better for you as a company and a brand, to choose a company that is totally dedicated to search engine optimisation, to handle all of your online marketing. They will then keep themselves upto date on industry news and apply new techinques to your site giving you a better chance for return on investment.
