There are 100s or even 1000s of companies out there that claim that they can offer seo or search engine optimisation. The trouble is, not many people can distinguise which company is the best to go with. Do we look at the website its self if we like it? Do we see if they rank for their key terms? Is there anything else should we be looking at when deciding.

I wouldnt put too much emphasis on looking at the site or even seeing if they rank super highly for their keywords. Never be scared to ask for testimonials or even speak to the client their self.

Assertain exactly what they are going to do on your site. There are hundreds of companies now that claim to be seo companies and offer guaranteed positions in the natural listings within 24 hours. This is impossible for any company to achieve no matter how good their previous results are. In essence these just take a percentage of the cost and put it into pay per click, or google adwords on phrases that were never likely to be searched.
