PR Newswire partners with mobile service provider

By Andrew Redfern @ 19th February 2008 8:02 pm

PR Newswire has today announced it is partnering with Contec Innovations, a mobile service provider, to provide mobile users worldwide access to PR Newswire customers’ breaking news.

PR Newswire customers’ press releases will be made available on Contec’s BUZmob mobile publishing service alongside its portfolio of sports, news, financial, entertainment, media and blog channels. Future upgrades to the service are expected to include distribution of PR Newswire customers’ photos and multimedia assets through the BUZmob platform.

“Distributing PR Newswire content through BUZmob’s content portfolio will give our customers the opportunity to reach new audiences around the world including those in emerging markets, where mobile data penetration is often higher than that of the Internet,” commented Joshua B. Cohen, director of Content Licensing & Distribution, PR Newswire.

“We continually strive to make our content available to our customers’ audiences wherever they are and in whatever format the audience desires. The BUZmobĀ  publishing service can deliver seamless universal access to our news content across all mobile devices and all mobile networks, making Contec a terrific partner for us.”

“Bringing on board the global leader in commercial news distribution provides our network of mobile operators and partners a first-class source for the delivery of business, industry and topical news, in a variety of languages, to their millions of subscribers,” commented Don Lay, president and CEO of Contec Innovations.

“We are extremely pleased to have PR Newswire join our BUZmob content network and look forward to distributing PR Newswire’s content in the emerging markets.”
