Search engine re-launches with focus on user privacy

New(ish) Search engine Gigablast today unveiled its new search engine with a new focus on protecting the privacy of users data.
Rather than merely reporting the date that a particular web page was last “seen” by the search engine, Gigablast’s patent-pending “freshness dating” algorithms estimate the last date that relevant changes were made to the web page.
This innovative technology gives users unparalleled flexibility to find the right results from the right time.
As an added benefit, Gigablast is implementing the most privacy-conscious personal data policy of the major search engines. Not only is the minimal amount of information collected to provide useful and relevant search results, but all personal information is erased from Gigablast’s records within sixty days.
Further, Gigablast does not place any cookies on users’ computers, nor does Gigablast use web beacons to track users’ activities.
“Since 2002 Gigablast has been providing quality search results to our users. The addition of our patent-pending freshness dating capability and our industry-leading privacy procedures represent a substantial step forward for the search industry, and a real benefit to our users,” said Matt Wells, CEO and Founder of Gigablast, Inc.
