Google’s US market share rise amidst reports of a global decline

Figures released by comScore today show that in the US Google’s share rose from 58.5% in January to 59.2 in Februrary (although the overall number of searches was 6% less). This was follwed by a report on ZDNet announcing “Google sees dip in global web-search share” and quotes further comScore data as showing a decline in it’s global share from 63.1% to 62.8% month on month. Yahoo’s share of the US market slipped from 22.2% in January to 21.6% in February and Microsoft’s searches showing a slight drop from 9.8% to 9.6%.
