SendMe acquires mobile community mbuzzy

SendMe today announced that it has acquired mbuzzy, the mobile industry’s first off-portal community in the U.S. market.

mbuzzy provides both an online and mobile environment to let people interact, share user-generated ontent and stay connected while on-the-go.

With mbuzzy.com SendMe adds community and social media capabilities to its portfolio of interconnected brands, which also includes SendMeMobile.com and SoLow.com.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“As community increasingly defines the consumer online experience, mobile is the next frontier,” said Russell Klein, co-founder and CEO of SendMe. “The mbuzzy deal is a strategic acquisition for us on two fronts.

First, it strengthens our commitment to giving users the most expansive and personalized mobile experience out there; and second, it provides our media partners with an unmatched environment to create even deeper customer engagements through an always-on mobile connection.”

The mbuzzy community is home to more than half a million mobile users who have downloaded over 15 million pieces of social media to their mobile phones.
