Reuters : Google to sell of DoubleClick’s search marketing arm

In a move aimed at averting a potential conflict of interest Google is to sell off Performics, the search marketing arm of DoubleClick. According to Reuters this is so there can be no accusations of it search engine favour clients of Performics over other SEO agencies.
In a post on his blog, Search Engine Land, search industry analyst Danny Sullivan welcomed the move and called for Microsoft to do the same with it’s Avenue A/Razorfish search marketing business.
