Samara has today joined the Yandex’s Local Network Program. The company set up its server equipment and started its free traffic exchange with local Internet providers in Russia.
With more and more local providers joining the program, users will be able to access all Yandex services at high page loading speed and local rates.
At the moment, there are four Samara Internet providers - AIST, Global telecom Co., Kraft-S, and Samara-Internet - which have already joined the Local Network Program.
Samara users of traffic-consuming services will be the first to benefit from launching Yandex’s Local Network Program. For instance, Novosibirsk, which was the first to join the program, has seen a 1.5 increase in user activity* at the photo hosting service Yandex.Fotki since last October.
