We noticed this on Reuters today Paul Coelhi is trying to get his readers to participate in a film based mashup project based around one of his books “The Witch of Portobello”. A blog post placed on Paul’s MySpace outlines how users can join in. There is actually a €3,000 prize for those that make the final cut.
According the his site “From the 16th of June 2008 onwards, they will have to up-load their videos in their Myspace account (of course the original version has to be in a good definition and with perfect sound). This filmmaker will have to illustrate the scenes where the narrator interacts with Athena. Since there will be a myriad of projects, I am aware that Athena will always be a different person (Caucasian, African, Asian, etc). This plurality is welcomed since Athena’s character is supposed to be ‘fleeting’.”
Fans of the book can simple make their video, upload it to YouTube and then submit it for scrutiny.
