Reuters : Yahoo strengthens it position for Pacific rim mobile search

Yahoo has confirmed that its mobile search service will be offered by a further six telecoms companies in Asia. This takes the number to 60 including Indian comapny Mahanagar Telephon Nigam (MTNL), Hong CSL Limited, Smart Communications and Sun Cellular from the Philippines and Taiwan base Vibo Telecom.

According to a report on Reuters news agency Yahoo’s Asia Managing director David Ko said “We are now able to reach 600 million subscribers, This creates the scale to make mobile advertising attractive.”
According to the compnay the mobile advertising market is expected to rise to $16.2 billion in 2011 up from $1.5 billion in 2006.
