Video Calling Integrated into Facebook Chat

TokBox, a first-of-its-kind web-based video communication product that makes it effortless for anyone to make a video call for free, today announced that it has created a video communication application for Facebook Chat, making it as easy and convenient for users to video chat with their Facebook friends as it is to instant message them.

For the first time, TokBox is enabling video communication within Facebook Chat via a Firefox add-on, allowing users to video call anyone in their network of friends.

The TokBox video calling functionality for Facebook is currently available via a Firefox add-on only, available at
http://www.tokbox.com/plugins. The add-on is free, small and safe, and enables powerful tools for video communication right through people’s web browsers.

TokBox’ add-on marks the first attempt to make video calling a part of the Mozilla Firefox and Facebook user interface. Support for Internet Explorer and Safari will be available in the near future.

Since launch in October 2007, TokBox has grown rapidly and is already being used in a variety of interesting ways: from online dating to staying in touch with far away family, to people communicating face-to-face from around the world, to music artists speaking with their fans on MySpace, to software development teams collaborating remotely.
