Google street view hits Japan and Australia

Things are progressing fast for Google street view. We reported last week that European street level views are imminent and today sees the rolling out of panoramas in Australia and Japan.

So it would seem that more and more places are coming on stream and that the often debated privacy problems are being circumvented by safeguards such as the facial blurring system. Cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne are all available and now we see reports of the distincitve Streetview-mobiles being spotted in The UK, France, Germany, Spain, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Norway & New Zealand.
