Today’s Google Trends: Facebook Mobile and Bret Farve

Todays hottest search on Google was “Facebook Mobile”. There are three mobile options for using Facebook on the go:

1) Mobile Web
2) Mobile Uploads
3) Mobile Texts

You can opt in and out of these at any time from the Mobile page, located under the account section. All the services are free of charge, though your carrier’s normal rates may apply. Facebook Mobile Web is an alternate version of Facebook specially designed for mobile phones.

It includes just about everything from the regular site, and it fits on a little screen. Facebook Mobile requires a phone with an internet browser. On most phones, you can access the internet browser from your phone’s menu, and then choose to open the url m.facebook.com. Facebook Mobile Web is currently available on AT&T phones through the MEdia Net. Tip: Add Facebook to your bookmarks to save time.

In the United States, Facebook Mobile Web is supported by AT&T, Boost, Nextel, Sprint, Verizon, Helio, and Virgin USA. In Canada, this functionality is supported by Bell Mobility, Aliant, Solo, Fido, Rogers, TELUS, SaskTel, Virgin Mobile Canada, and MTS. In the UK, this functionality is supported by O2.

If you have another carrier and a phone with an internet browser, it should still work, we just can’t make any guarantees. The mobile site is customized to display the best way possible on each phone, so it may look a little different depending upon the capabilities of your device. Facebook does not charge for Mobile Web. However, your normal data rates will still apply. Check with your carrier to find out what plans are available.

Anyone can start just by sending a photo from your phone to mobile@facebook.com or a note to notes@facebook.com. We’ll send you back a code to confirm your phone. Enter this code on the site once, and you’re confirmed to continue uploading from your phone. To start, go to the Mobile Uploads tab of the Mobile page.
