Facebook Lite in Beta Testing – Is This The Twitter Killer?

News broke today, that facebook has sent out thousands of invitations to its users who have been selected to test their new version of the Facebook website. Facebook lite as it will be known, is simply as it says, a lite version of facebook.

Although a lot of people may think this is small news, facebook try to revamp by making it smaller. It may be big news as many people out there use more than one social network due to their own personal likes and dislikes. With an awful lot of people using both facebook and twitter to stay in touch with their friends and family.

What is Facebook Lite like?
In short, no one is really sure, but people with the testing version seem to suggest that it is very similar to twitter. Although facebook have denied that they want to copy how they work, they seem to be doing a good job. Over the day facebook lite is now a trending topic on twitter with many people claiming it as the “twitter killer”. If this does turn into a big twitter killer then it could do very very quickly with millions of users using both twitter and facebook. Combining the features of both seems like a fantastic idea from facebook, we could well see users switching to the facebook lite and twitter dying a fast, not a slow death.
