Online Lead Generation - Search Engine Optimisation(SEO) Still The Bestby Andrew Redfern @ 31st July 2009 4:18 pm International SEO Are you looking to increase lead generation or sales? Reports this week have suggested the the most popular way in which to increase your leads, is through search engine optimisation(seo). Does this come as a shock to you? Do you even understand what SEO is? If not then I suggest you read on. Research carried out by Clash Media, has found that over 3 quaters of companies in the UK are using search engine optimisation as their primary way of generating leads online. What they found to come a close second, was email marketing, which is a great way to reach a databse of users that you already have, therefore they have seen your products. Email marketing however is not a great way in which to create new customers. Linus Gregoriadis, research director at Econsultancy, commented “During the recession, there has been more focus on natural search and email marketing because these channels are often regarded as more cost-effective.” This is something that we were all aware of as the credit crunch starts to bite even harder than ever. Companies are always looking to increase the number of leads that they receive and clearly, search engine optimisation is their favourite way in which to do this. Paid search took a little dive from 2008 to 2009, but this could be down to companies wanting a more long term solution in online lead generation. Almost 55% of marketers that responded, admited that they expect to spend more of their budget on search engine optimisation, to help generate more leads. A resolution was found and the agreement has now been drawn up. Yahoo’s search bar will be powered by Bing, with a sweatner resulting in 110% revenues for Yahoo in the first year. A huge commitment on the part of Microsoft. SEO Friendly Websites - They are Needed for Search Engine Optimisationby Andrew Redfern @ 24th July 2009 5:23 pm International SEO We often get asked the question, does my website design have any effect over my search engine optimisation. The short answer to that is yes! The way in which your website is designed, has a direct affect on how Google chooses to see your site. If your site includes a lot of flash, then this can even have a negative effect on your rankings. To an extent you have to treat Google exactly as you would treat a user on your site. If its slow in loading or you can’t find things easy, a user won’t particularly like the website, the same can be said for Google. If your site has too many images, then no one will particularly know what your site is mean to be about. The best way for layout is minimal images and plenty of text, all your navigation certainly has to be text. Flash files, although can be read by Google, are extremly difficult to perform SEO with. As the code Google has to read through, can be really heavy. This tends to bore Google a little bit and they then tend to move on and more than likely leave some of your website content. If your content is not being read then the chances are your rankings will suffer as a result. The last thing to mention, is the way in which the Google bot reads a website. i.e. What it sees first, if you have to use flash, then its better to have the text first, in order to get the most from the site. The website will be crawled just like a user, from top to bottom so ensure that not just your text, but your navigation is also top to avoid some of your most important pages being missed by Google. Make Money on The Internet - Google & Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)by Andrew Redfern @ 10th July 2009 10:37 am International SEO It is something that all budding entrepreneurs look to do, make money on the internet. With some websites on the internet making £0000s each day, it is no wonder they chase the dream of making money on the internet. The thing is though, it isn’t easy to make money online, some people are under the impression that should they have a website with some good products on, they will immediately start making money. This is not the case, as many websites actually fail because they go in unaware of how to actually market a website. Internet marketing is the concept of using a number of tools to help increase a websites visibility across the web, the main aspect of this is search engine optimisation or SEO. If you have a website currently being built or are thinking about making an online venture, then you should explore all avenues of how you plan to make this a success. I mentioned earlier search engine optimisation (SEO) is the main factor in for internet marketing, well I feel I should explain what SEO actually is. It is the process of work completed on your website that will help interest the major search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. Hopefully this interest will increase the number of times these search engines visit your site, which hopefully also increases overall position in the search engines. The difficulty and amount of work needed does depend on the competitiveness of each phrase which is picked out by analysing your products or services to find out what people actually search for online. The process of search engine optimisation is something that you should never embark on, on your own. The reason being, if you don’t fully understand all aspects then it is quite easy to get your site banned from these search engines and you will no longer be able to live the dream of making money the easy way. This is best left to professionals who have a proven track record of providing results in seo and internet marketing. Would you like to know about making money on the internet? There is a good reason for this, as Google does take the market share of searches across the internet. With this in mind, there are plenty of people who look at getting to the top of Google for high traffic keywords. A percentage of these succeed but there are also a large number who fail. This failure in getting to the top of Google almost certainly results in a failure of a website venture. The main reasons for this failure are ultimately their lack of knowledge of search engine optimisation(SEO). This is the process in which your site is brought up in the rankings in the major search engines. There are a number of different parts of SEO that make up one big powerful package to help strength your site and increase its exposure across the web. Link building, onsite meta data and various social media and offsite strategies make up search engine optimisation. Although its true you can do it on your own, it is better left to companies with experience in turning websites into gold mines. Left to the professionals, you can see an upturn in traffic and an upturn in sales or leads depending on your business. If your website is failing and you dont know where to turn then turn to search engine optimisation.

Targetting Your Search Engine Optimisation(SEO)by Andrew Redfern @ 3rd July 2009 2:12 pm International SEO Although everyone makes a big fuss about being top in search engine optimisation, it shouldn’t be all you target. The biggest thing about being ranked, is making your site inviting enough to encourage people to click and eventually purchase or contact you through the site. This may seem like a small matter to overcome but it is not easy for those who aren’t particularly experienced in making appearling adds in search engine results. An effective use of meta deta such as titles and descriptions make a huge difference when they appear in the search results. When a query is made and all the results appear, the keyword in which you searched, becomes highlighted everytime it appears in a result. This highlighting helps let your site stand out in the results. Highlighting your keyword is good, however its important to make sure what is on show, also makes good sense. You could stuff descriptions with keywords and yes they would all be highlighted but no one is likely to click as they have no idea what the page is about, all they see is a repetition of keywords. With only 148 charactors to work with this certainly is a tough skill to master and why so many people turn to professional search engine optimisation companies. Meta Data also isn’t the way to get some fantastic SEO although it plays a part, its just a small piece of what is a very very big pie. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) for Ecommerce Websites, Make Money From Google.by Andrew Redfern @ 29th June 2009 11:41 am International SEO Search engine optimisation is not something that everyone understands. Many people set up a business to trade online, or decide to trade their original business, through online channels. What all these businesses miss out on, is the way in which you make money online. Many people believe that if you build a website and leave it online, then the money will come in with absolutely none or little effort needed. This misconception is what causes a lot of new online ventures to fail quicker than they started. It is important to remember that the main reason you started your venture, is to be seen by the masses and help increase sales online. The way in which this should be done, involves a lot of effort from yourself aswell as bringing someone with a little know how and experience, to help successfully market your product or service, to the masses of potential online customers. Consider it similar to marketing a shop, in order to be seen on the streets, you have to let people know you exist. This is exaclty the same when marketing for search engines, which to be honest, is where everyone goes to search for things they buy. Search engine marketing, as mentioned previously, does involve work from yourself aswell as others in order to succeed online. Experienced SEO companies such as Hit Search, can help you explore all avenues of online marketing. This online marketing along with articles written usually by yourself or your seo experts, will help increase the overall exposure your website has online. Exposure is key to helping your website work in the search engines, as every time a website links to your website, this can be considered a vote for your site. The more votes it has, combined with a variety of onsite techniques, can help bring an awful lot of traffic to your website. Don’t be like 1000’s of other online ventures that fail, put time and effort into your business, and consult experienced professionals to help make it work.
