FREE SEO Tips booklet: Chapter 5…

by Andrew Redfern @ 8th July 2009 8:12 am The 7 biggest SEO mistakes...

What you need to know about social media in 2009!

‘Social Media’ has become somewhat of a buzz word over the past few months and it is set to develop into a much more important channel throughout 2009. However, it should not be seen as a stand-alone strategy and with my clients, we incorporate it as part of ANY ongoing SEO campaign.

Why are these networks so important?

What the variety of social networks offer is a chance to interact with your audience at a time when they are most susceptible to your message. This isn’t in a devious way, but people are more used to traditional advertising channels like TV, Radio and Outdoor, whilst they are important, people are used to them being there and can therefore be slightly desensitised to the message that they are portraying. On the other hand, whilst checking your Facebook profile you are in a much more receptive relaxed mind set and therefore the impact of any message is much more real.

FREE Search Engine Optimisation(SEO) Booklet: Chapter 4…

by Andrew Redfern @ 3rd July 2009 3:12 pm The 7 biggest SEO mistakes...

Who’s saying what about you online!

Throughout 2009, more and more businesses will want to protect their existing flow of cash and will therefore be looking more and more towards finding ways to monitor their online reputation. Basically keeping an eye on what their customers are saying about them. Remember, if a customer has a good experience they will tell 10 people BUT if a customer has a bad experience they will tell 100 people…

Why is it so important to find out what people are saying?

As we are all aware, acquiring a good solid base of customers is difficult and therefore to lose them has a massive impact on any business. Managing your online reputation becomes extremely important therefore to ‘hear about’ any potential problems before they stagnate and in time turn into a lost piece of business and lost personal cash at the end of the day. I see this as so important that we asked a team within our business to develop our own online reputation management tool. This was borne from working on one of my previous clients at a different agency where I was working at the time. They were one of the largest flight companies in Europe and had found a scathing report about their service from London to New York. It was a passenger who had written a review in their own personal blog and it has been deemed as extremely relevant by Google to have it positioned at the top of the results pages when ANYBODY typed in the flight companies brand term!!!! As you can imagine this had a serious impact on the volume of sales LOST due to the way the article attacked the airlines service and would therefore put other customers off. The online reputation management tool my team built now would have seriously helped that company and works by scanning 250 million sources of information across the web, sorting the results into positive, negative and neutral responses to any given clients brand.

Chapter 3: There’s a whole world off page…

This comes up among some of the most talked about topics within the SEO fraternity and can get some serious bad press from time to time. A good solid ‘off-page’ strategy is something that should form the bedrock of any online campaign and can have significant impact on search engine positioning, increased volumes of traffic and the resultant increase in the profit your site can make.

So what does an ‘off-page’ campaign entail?

An off-page campaign is an umbrella term for ANYTHING that you do to bring visitors back to your site from ‘other’ sites on the net. Sound woolly? Let me explain…Search engines don’t just assess what is actually on your site when they decide how relevant it is, they also follow all the links that are associated with your site. So one important part of off-page optimisation therefore is to have a good link building program in place.

How do I build links?

Chapter 2: What should I actually change on my site?

I am confident that you are keen to jump to some of the great ideas later in this booklet that will help you get more qualified people to your website, but I feel it’s worth taking a step back first of all and seeing if your website can handle the specific visitors we are looking for AND MORE IMPORTANTLY ensure that search engines can find your site!

Why are search engines so important and how do they find my site?

Search engines, on average, generate up to 75% of ALL traffic to your website if a site is set up correctly. If your site isn’t visible or some parts of the site aren’t search engine friendly, then there will be a significant amount of visitors that are looking for your site but can’t find it and therefore can’t find your products and services.

See why it’s so important to take this step back?

In terms of how search engines find your site, it’s all about relevance! The more relevant your site is to a particular search query (keyword you type into Google for example) the higher up the results pages you will appear.

Sound simple?

It’s not that straight forward and there are hundreds of areas that I could go into, but for now, I’ve categorised them into 5 key areas that are seen and as ‘on-page optimisation techniques.’ They are called on page optimisation techniques because guess what…..they all happen on the various pages of any given site. In addition, ‘off-page optimisation techniques’ I will cover off a little later in this booklet and they can make an even more significant difference to the profit your site is making. It is worth mentioning at this point that BOTH on and off-page techniques fall into the category of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).

Free SEO booklet - Chapter 1 preview…

by Andrew Redfern @ 30th June 2009 5:57 pm The 7 biggest SEO mistakes...

Over the coming few days, i’ll be giving you a sneak previews of the individual chapters of a booklet I have written called ‘The 7 biggest mistakes…’ This booklet comprises the top mistakes that companies I have worked with over the past 10 years are making - which leads to a loss in sales and therefore profits. The full booklet can be downloaded by clicking the image above this article at any time.

“7 simple steps to increase traffic & business volumes through your website that e-marketing teams and business owners often get WRONG and therefore costs them £000’s in lost profits!”

As you read through the following booklet, you should have a better understanding of some of the things that can seriously improve the revenue your website is generating IMMEDIATELY!

From my experience as a Director of Hit Search, there are hundreds of mistakes I see e-commerce teams and business owners making on a daily basis, but here in this booklet and written in plain English, are my top 7 tips that have dramatically helped my clients increase their profits!

Before we go any further, there is a saying in life that nothing is ‘free’ but I would like to dispel this myth. As a valued reader of this report and hopefully many future ones, I am offering a free telephone consultation. During this call, you can use the opportunity to get my opinion on what strategies you are currently employing or indeed which areas I think that you should look into. Use this time to get as much value as you so wish. However, due to the demand from my last informational booklet, I am now only offering this for the first 10 people to come back to me and ask for it on this link:- www.hitsearchlimited.com/free_consultancy/Book_consultation.php I would usually charge £97 for this session so remember it is on a first come first served basis!

Mistake Number 1: Measure twice, cut once. STOP loosing £000’s in potential profit NOW!

Measure twice and cut once is an old carpenters’ expression. The theory behind the term is that by measuring a piece of wood twice prior to cutting, it stops you removing too much or indeed not cutting enough off. Therefore the measurement required is just right. Getting the measurements ‘just right’ for your website is just as important and it can literally save you thousands of pounds of lost profits.

Which system should I use?

Of course, by now you must be thinking I will now reveal a magic tool that has been kept under wraps for years and years – this is the answer to all my problems?

…WRONG!
