Although MySpace (At SEO ranking number 19) still ranks higher in search activity, Facebook's open source policy regarding applications, combined with other unique functionality, has allowed it to soar in popularity. The finalists for the 2007 Weblog Awards have been announced, featuring a category for celebrity bloggers.

Of the 10 finalists in the celebrity blogging category, five register high search activity this week.

"American Gangster" gains 162% in search activity after topping box offices this past weekend, taking in $43.6 million. The Denzel Washington flick beat out Jerry Seinfeld's "Bee Movie," which ironically increases much more this week, up 700% in search popularity with web users.
