Content Marketing can be a highly valuable inbound marketing methodology, by helping you reach your goal of increasing website traffic and generating new business leads for your legal practice. So check out these five easy ways to increase the number of potential claimants visiting your website.
1. Create Specific Content
When your potential claimants, are searching the web they are looking for the answer to a specific question, so you need to make sure that your content is providing the answer. But how do you know what claimants will be looking for? Luckily you have a couple simple tricks that are free and easy to access, such as social media. With social media you can investigate what exactly your followers are talking about and what questions they might be asking; allowing you to tailor your content to answer those questions and then post it directly to them. You can also use Google’s keyword tool alongside your claimant personas to help research what terms you need to be using in your content to help increase web traffic.
2. Use Listicles
Listicles are a great way to increase website traffic as they allow you to build content which features multiple pieces of information and links to other sources of content for future reading. This simple way of noting down content means that claimants can quickly scan the content and find points that resonate with them, with aim to create an emotional response from your claimants, leading to them sharing the content across social channels, as they feel that others will also find certain points relevant. Check out a great example of a listicle that we produced for one our clients here.
3. Infographics can spread
Speaking of highly shareable content, infographics have great virility due to their visual nature, and with statistics such as “tweets with visual components gain 18% more clicks, 89% more favourites and 150% more retweets” it’s difficult to say why you shouldn’t be making and sharing visual content like infographics and videos to help increase traffic to your firm’s website.
Webinars are a fantastic form of content marketing allowing you to increase website traffic in a number of different ways. Firstly, sending invites by email and inviting your audience via social media channels to sign up to your webinar draws your audience onto your site to check out what the webinar is about and if it will be useful to them. Secondly, by being a live event and potentially being limited to a number of spaces, you can create a sense of urgency around the content, which makes people not want to miss out. Thirdly, the webinar itself brings your audience back onto your website and allows you to push further content which will keep them returning to your site in the future. Finally by producing a webinar, you’ve also given yourself another three or four pieces of potential content (podcast, video, SlideShare, blog post) that you can publish and distribute through outreach channels to help increase website traffic!
5. Have a clear promotional plan
Our final tip to help increase your website traffic is really important, and that is to make sure you have a clear promotional plan in place for each piece of content. On the first day of your content’s publication you want to be emailing all your lists and letting your audience know so that you can start to build some initial traffic and engagement with your content. Follow that up by posting about your content on all your social media channels making sure to pay close attention to the best times and frequencies to be posting. By building this initial interest in your content on launch you can begin to build a crowd mentality, as interest builds and discussions about your content spreads.
